A few weeks ago a couple friends and I went to a charity crop and SHOCKINGLY I forgot to post the layouts I created… WHAT???
well, here they are… this first one is of my ridiculously gorgeous and grown up niece.
It’s so sad that I don’t get to see her very often but last summer I finally made the trip over to the island to visit family and of course, had the best time. This layout is made with alot of generic ephemera as well a few papers and pieces that rockstar Amy Kingsford sent me last yr from the gorgeous SEI line, Promise Me, Stampin Ups papers and brads from Sale-A-Bration 2012, as well as Amy Tan Thickers.
Even though you can’t really see it on the screen, I used a Crafters Workshop stencil to create a band background of pearly white acrylic paint.
I wish it had a bit more contrast but with her picture on it… who cares what the layout looks like!! She is a treasure and a LOVE that pic.
This layout was fun to create about how I really REALLY don’t feel like I should be 45 years old!! I mean 45… that’s a really grown up age… and I am ssssoooo far from grown up. I mean, for my birthday my baby brother gave me 6 cupcakes and a bag of Oreos and it was the most appropriately perfect gift (which unfortunately I have already completely inhaled without any sharing at all…. oops, not true, I gave Julian ONE cupcake)
Any who… this picture was taken a couple weeks ago before I went out with D to see a movie and I was showing off my fancy new scarf that my Mommy made me.
The text sentiments are from KP’s Capture kit at Designer Digitals, the hex paper was surprisingly one I found on Pinterest which I sent to Staples to print and the glitter paper is from Michael’s Recollection line.
I cut the 45 on my cricut, hand cut on some of the hexxies to pop up and have hanging off to the side and spritzed the background with Stampin Up’s Crumb Cake ink. But once again, I wish the layout had more contrast so I think I will outline hexagon shapes where the journalling is to highlight it more as it’s getting lost in the background.
‘Growing’ is another layout I did at the crop of J and how much he has changed since we started going to the Water Park. I made it with products mainly from the Little Black Dress kit I rec’d over a year …alot of vintage products and ephemera from who knows where. Honestly it has taken me well over a year to warm up to 90% of the products incl their kits. I added his ages to the photos directly in PSE and just lowered the opacity so they are a bit more subtle (sort of).
I made the little embellishments with stitched buttons and punched paper, I spritzed a doily into the background then removed it and spritzed another smaller one that I left in place and tucked it behind the photos, used a JBS bingo card, Tim Holtz’s tissue tape and paper clips
BUT once again, stick a couple pictures of my ADORABLE nephew and who the heck cares about the design or products on the layout 🙂
And this one is digital with Anna’s products, of course…. she is so brilliant and makes my job super easy. Just throw her stuff on a page and it looks great. I used her Wooden Shop Alphas, brush from her Arsty Camera kit and alot from ArtPlayPalette Remember
This one celebrates My Pose in Africa… this was really the only way people EVER saw me while on the trip and if you were the wildlife in Africa, than I guarantee that this was the only way you saw me.
I have a few more just about done and ready to be posted.
Thx for checking in,
Carole
